All signers of the document(s) being notarized must submit one valid, unexpired (or issued within the last 5 years) government-issued photo ID that includes your signature, physical description, and an identifying number, like a CA Driver’s License/ID, U.S. Passport, or U.S. Military ID, with other acceptable options including foreign passports or certain tribal/consular IDs. The ID must be current and clearly show your photo, description, signature, and an identifying number to prove you are the person signing the document.

Most Common & Preferred IDs:
1. State Drivers License Card (DMV issued).
2. U.S. Passport (book or card).
3. U.S. Military ID (not CAC cards).

Other Acceptable IDs (Current or Issued within 5 Years):
1. Foreign Passports (valid).
2. Mexican or Canadian Driver’s Licenses(issued by authorized public agencies).
3. Inmate ID from CA Dept. of Corrections (if in custody).
4. Employee ID from CA state, city, or county agencies.
5. Consular Identification Cards (valid).
6. ID issued by a federally-recognized tribal government.
